Chromium doped
yttrium aluminum garnet or Cr4+:YAG has higher damage threshold and is mostly used in passively Q-switching diode
pumped or lamp pumped passive Q-switching materials. Its main advantages
are high damage threshold, and absorptions wavelength of 900nm--1200nm,
and peak of around 1060nm with large absorption section.
